This tight end is at the top of his game.

He’s good with his hands, even better with his sexy mouth, and the best at making me forget my own name. His—ahem—stats are perfect. But I can’t fall for him. He might be everything I want, all rolled into a glorious package of gridiron god, but there’s one teeny-tiny problem. The vile, loathsome team I’ve spent my entire life hating—my beloved school’s arch-rival? This guy is their star player.

About the Author:

Nikki Sloane landed in graphic design after her careers as a waitress, a screenwriter, and a ballroom dance instructor fell through. For eight years she worked for a design firm in that extremely tall, black, and tiered building in Chicago that went through an unfortunate name change during her time there. Now she lives in Kentucky and manages a team of graphic artists. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, is married with two sons, writes dirty books, and couldn’t be any happier.

Wells Lemiere knew the moment he saw Matty Haverbrooke, he had to have him. Matty was quiet, he was talented, he was beautiful, and Wells couldn’t stay away.

As the youngest and most talented son of the NHL Commissioner, Matty had found the burden of family expectations almost too heavy to carry on even his broad shoulders. He had no intention of getting involved in a relationship with Wells. But the heart he’d given up for dead had other ideas.

Their affair was intense and overwhelming, but when Matty couldn’t bring himself to come out and admit he wanted a public future with the man he loved, Wells had no choice but to honor his vow to live openly…and leave Matty behind.

But then he learns Wells is marrying another, and Matty knows he can’t let that happen. Can he throw down his gloves and embrace his future with both hands? Or will he pull the door to his closet shut once more?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Matty loves Wells as much or more than he loves hockey. For a hockey player, that is enough in itself. Until family creates a divide and he must choose.

Wells wants more with Matty than he can have, apparently. He wants it all. With Matty running scared from outside interference, Wells wonders will he ever get his happily ever after?

This is such a great story. Well written and going at a great pace. The angst is real, the heat is super smoking hot, and the feelings jump off the page and grabbed me. I cannot wait to hear more about these guys in upcoming books!

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!

When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.

Rock Solid (Book Boyfriend, #4)Rock Solid by Carly Phillips
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #4 in the Book Boyfriend series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader understanding and to avoid spoilers, I always recommend reading these series books in order.

Connor has an amazing layover night in Denver with Katie. He just wishes he has a way to contact her the next day. He is not really a one-night stand kind of guy, and she seems perfect for him.

Katie has a lot to lose by letting Connor into her life once again. She knows he is a man of his word, but putting her heart out there is a leap she thought she would never take. Can she take a chance on the one man who makes her happy?

I was so in love with these characters right from the first chapter! The banter is great. The sexy times were well paced. The whole flow of the book was so good. We also got a bit of a glimpse of some of our favorites from previous books in the Book Boyfriend series.

Erika Wilde

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison (http://www.janelledenison.com/)) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers. So, why the new pen name? As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance.   However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with.   That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories. Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage.  The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship. I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates.  Sign up to receive my newsletter for updates and news!

Blog Tour w/Review – An Ex For Christmas

AN EX FOR CHRISTMAS
Love Unexpectedly
Lauren Layne
Releasing Nov 7, 2017
Loveswept

She’s making a list—and checking it twice. But is there a nice guy among all her naughty exes? The New York Times bestselling author of Blurred Lines returns with a charming friends-to-lovers rom-com.

When a psychic tells spunky, superstitious Kelly Byrne that she’s already met her true love, she becomes obsessed with the idea of tracking him down before Christmas. Kelly immediately writes up an “Ex List” and starts contacting old boyfriends to figure out which one is the one. When her college sweetheart rolls into town, Kelly convinces herself that they’re meant to be. The trouble is, sparks are flying with someone she’s never given a chance: her best friend, Mark.

Mark Blakely has watched the guys on Kelly’s list break her heart, and he’s not looking forward to watching them do it all over again. Mark’s always been there for her, but the timing’s never worked out for their relationship to be something more. Now, just as Mark is ready to move on, the sexual tension between them is suddenly off the charts. With Christmas morning around the corner, he just hopes Kelly will wake up and realize that everything she wants has been right in front of her all along.

As I walk, I check the weather app on my phone, delighted to see that while it’s nothing but rain today, there’s a chance of a snow shower tomorrow. Nothing says Christmas break like snow.

I just miss my train, but there’s a decent-ish voice singing “White Christmas” nearby, and the platform’s not too crowded, so waiting’s not as bad as it could be.

My eye catches on a middle-aged woman who’s set up camp under one of the stairwells. It’s not unusual to see all manner of people under the streets of New York, although this one’s better dressed than most. She’s wearing a blousy red shirt, jeans, and ankle boots, and is sitting cross-legged on a plaid blanket. She’s got twigs of what seem to be fake roses in her hair.

None of that’s the weird part.

What’s weird is that she’s watching me. Intently.

We make awkward eye contact, and I give a quick smile before turning my attention back to my phone.

But I still feel her eyes on me.

Not in an unfriendly way, not in the way that makes me mentally catalog whether or not I saw any cops on my way down here who would hear me if I scream. She doesn’t seem eager to push me onto the train tracks either, and since that’s every New Yorker’s secret fear, that’s a plus.

Still, the focus is unsettling. I glance up again, and her eyes lock on mine. Her dark gaze is clear and focused, and I can’t decide if that’s more or less disturbing than if she seemed sort of hazy.

Then she smiles right at me. “Kelly.”

I get immediate goosebumps for reasons that have nothing to do with the winter weather. She knows my name.

“Come.” She beckons. “Come. I see.

Now you’re thinking, Hell, no. Run!

I should be thinking the same, and on some level, I am, but . . .

There are a couple dozen people around. None are paying attention to me, but it’s not like I’m all alone in a dark alley.

And look, we’ve already established that I believe in fate expressing itself through a Magic 8 ball and horoscopes, and though I haven’t mentioned it yet, I totally avoid black cats, the number thirteen, and walking under ladders.

I also believe that there’s such a thing as sight. I know, because my grandma had it.

Grandma Shirley was one of those delightfully batty old ladies that most people dismissed as quirky, but nobody can deny that she seemed to know stuff. She knew when I’d win my soccer game, and by how many points. She knew when her cat’s litter of kittens would be born, down to the minute. Once she’d even predicted an earthquake, even though they’re really rare in New York.

She’d passed away when I was in eleventh grade (she’d predicted the when and how of that too), and though I didn’t inherit her talents, I’ve never stopped believing that some people see and know things that they shouldn’t. I call it the Sight.

I step closer, and the woman grins and beckons me even nearer.

I stop a healthy few feet away. I’m superstitious, not crazy.

The woman leans forward. “You seek love.”

Huh. Color me unimpressed. I mean, don’t most humans seek love? Sure, I’m recently single, and I don’t particularly want to be. And maybe I sometimes try a little too hard to find my forever guy.

But I’m not hearing anything other than generic lucky guesses from this lady.

“Sure,” I say, already starting to back away.

She holds up a hand. “The one you seek? Your forever guy, the love of your life . . .”

I freeze, because her phrasing echoes my thoughts almost exactly. A coincidence? Maybe. I don’t move away just yet, willing to hear her out.

She smiles again. “You’ve already met him.”

I blink. “What? I think you may want to recheck that crystal ball. I’m single.”

Her smile merely grows. “I didn’t say you weren’t single. I said you’d already met him. You just let him go. He’ll come back to you before Christmas.”

Whoa whoa whoa. This is . . .

Huh.

“You’re telling me that the love of my life is one of my exes?”

She extends both of her palms as though to say, There you have it!

I stifle a little surge of disappointment. Clearly she hasn’t met my exes. There are some decent ones in the mix, but mostly they’re duds, and none of them make my heart beat faster. Well, maybe—

Nope. No. Do not go there.

Thankfully, I feel the rumble of an oncoming train, and a glance over my shoulder tells me my ride outta here is approaching.

“Thanks very much,” I say with a strained smile. “Merry Christmas.”

“Happy holidays,” she says with a nod, standing and gathering up her blanket.  Apparently she’s taken a cue from Madison Meyers and is sticking close to the PC route. Fair enough.

I lift a hand in a wave and move toward the train, but her next words give me a fresh wave of new goosebumps.

“Tell your parents happy anniversary. Thirty’s going to be a magical year for them.”

I whip my head around. “How did you—”

The woman is gone.

Like vanished gone.

Leaving me to wonder . . .

If a woman I’d never met was right about my parents’ anniversary, was she also right about other stuff?

Have I already met my one true love?

An Ex for ChristmasAn Ex for Christmas by Lauren Layne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book #5 in the Love Unexpectedly series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order.

Kelly & Mark have been best friends for so long. They can finish each other’s sentences. They can tell when a relationship is not working. What Kelly cannot seem to notice is their attraction to one another.

Mark has been waiting for the right moment to sweep her off her feet. Kelly is always in another city, with another man, or just plain oblivious. Will Mark ever get his chance to be the man Kelly really needs?

This was such a great story. I laughed, cried and even laughed while I cried. This author never disappoints. Such a truly sweet read about best friends and why they are truly the. best for you. I loved every page and honestly hope we see these characters again.

“Most men don’t like overweight women, Matthew.”

He snorted. “You’re not overweight. You’re fucking perfect.”

“I’m not. We both know I’m not, but thank you for saying it.”

“No,” he said, capturing my face in his hands and forcing me to look him in the eye. “Listen to me. I don’t give a fuck what anyone says; you’re perfect.”

He kissed the tip of my nose.

“Beautiful inside and out.”

He kissed my right cheek.
“Sexy as hell.”

He kissed my left cheek.
“And I’m so honored that you’re here with me right now because I’m no fool; I know you’re too good for me. What I’m doing with you is wrong, and I know that. You deserve so much better than me, but I can’t stay away from you.”

I kissed him, tasting all that he was. “Then don’t,” I whispered again his lips.
He kissed me hard, pulling a soft moan from the back of my throat. My body pressed into his, begging for him. Ready. So completely ready.

“You’re driving me crazy, Red.”

“No. You’re driving me crazy.”

He backed away, pulling me to a standing position. He reached for the hem of my dress and began lifting it.

“I know you hate them, but I only have one question.” His hand slid up the inside of my thigh before he dipped a finger in the top of my panty line and ran it across my lower stomach. “Will you let me lick all your curves?”

Biting my lip, I nodded.

He tugged my dress over my head, leaving me in nothing but my bra and panties. His eyes devoured my body as he smacked my hands away when I tried to cover myself. Slowly, he peeled my bra straps down and began undoing the back of my bra.
He leaned over, latching onto my nipple, and a wild moan escaped my lips. I had never felt anything so potent. Every time he sucked on my nipple, a tugging sensation pulled at my clit as if he was sucking there, as well.

While he worked my breasts, his fingers slipped into my panties, pushing them down my ass and over my thighs until they were loose enough to drop to my ankles. He tickled my hip, his fingers walking their way over my flesh until he was teasing my clit with the tip of his finger.

“Oh, my God. Matthew,” I breathed his name.

He captured my cheeks in his other hand, pinching slightly to get me to look him in the eye.

“I’m going to stick my fingers in first. I want to touch you inside.” He breathed. “This is your warning. Don’t freak out on me, okay?”

I nodded, ready to feel some form of penetration. My inner walls were clenching, pushing my juices out with the want to be filled.

His fingers moved down from my clit, sliding over my soaked folds until his middle finger was circling my opening. I thrust, not being able to wait any longer, and he chuckled, the deep vibrations of his laughter sending a wave of longing through me.

“Slow down, baby, I’m going to ease that ache soon enough.”

I melted. The way he was talking to me and touching me was driving me toward an orgasm.

His fingers swiped around my center once again, and I whined, needing to feel him before I burst. I was seconds away from begging when he pressed two fingers into me, bending his fingers deep.

I sighed in relief.

My knees went weak, and I leaned onto the countertop, hoping it would keep me from falling.

“Is this okay?” he asked, his blazing blue eyes lingering on my face.

“Yes. Please, Matthew,” I begged, needing more of everything he was giving me.

He pulled his fingers out a bit, my body naturally trying to suck them back in. Then he thrust once more, pulling them out and pushing them back in, in a rhythm that had my toes curling into the wood flooring beneath my feet. His thumb glided over my clit sending a jolt of sensation through me until I began to shiver.

“I love seeing you like this,” he breathed. “Look at you. You like having my fingers inside you, don’t you, Red?”

I nodded, wishing I could speak over the heavy breaths that pushed from my body.

“Say it, Shannon. Tell me you like it.”

He fucked me with his fingers faster, pushing me toward the brink and holding me over the edge.

“I-I-I do,” I stuttered. “I like it so much.”

CALL TO REDEMPTION Excerpt:

The woman simply stared, those anime eyes assessing for a long moment before she smiled.

So, Dominic? What do you recommend?”

He started to correct her. He was only Dominic to a few stubborn holdouts in his family. Everyone else had called him Nic since he was ten. But there was something about the way she said his name, the syllables rolling off her tongue, that stayed his words.

Are you a fan of fluffy drinks?” he asked instead.

Only inasmuch as I can now say I’ve had one,” she responded with a laugh.

Then I recommend we get to know each other better over a real drink.”

Define real.”

Nic’s smile widened. He leaned back in the chair and prepared to enjoy himself. As he did, he noted that the band was setting up. Within twenty minutes of tuning up, the lanai would be crowded with bodies boogying to the island beat.

Real, as in not decorated with flowers. If you’re hungry, the food down here is good. Simple, upscale from the usual bar choices.” He tapped the menu she’d yet to check out. “I can recommend the taco platter. The chef has a way with pork and pineapple.”

Mmm.” She drew one long finger over the menu but didn’t pull it closer or try to open it. “Any other recommendations?”

A few came to mind, but it seemed a little early in the evening to suggest naked dancing. Yeah. His gaze swept over her curves. He’d bet she’d look damn good at it.

But he had no clue if she could dance.

He should find that out, first.

That, and her name.

The band is solid and you’ve got a good seat for the show. But if you were more interested in a quiet dinner watching the sun set over the ocean, you might want to try the third-floor restaurant.” He indicated the spiral staircase she’d descended earlier. “The view is worth the climb.”

Is that a fact?”

Yes, ma’am, it is. Call it my public service announcement for the evening.”

That teased a hint of a smile out of her. One she quickly hid by sipping her drink.

Do you do that often? Serve the public and help them avoid overly loud dinners?”

You could say I’ve made a career of it.”

Do tell.” Her body language was subtly flirtatious, but even with those huge eyes locked on his face, he couldn’t read her well enough to know if that was a green light or a cautious yellow.

Nic didn’t brag about what he did, but he didn’t hide it, either. Simply put, there was nothing relaxing about talking about his work. Not right now. Not when just thinking about it felt like a blow to the chest, leaving him breathless and empty.

So he sidestepped.

Let’s just say I’m gifted at seeing my way around any variety of obstacles while engineering the successful outcome that serves people of all walks of life.”

Check him, he thought, grinning. He could have a future in politics. Or with the Navy brass, which was sometimes the same thing.

Well, that’s intriguingly vague,” she said with a laugh.

Intriguing enough to tempt you to have dinner with me?”

Narrowing those eyes in a cautious way that made him want to know all of her secrets, she gave him a considering look before offering the smallest of shrugs.

I’d hate to let your public service announcement go to waste. And this will give you time to tell me all about how you serve people with engineered outcomes.”

Instead of answering, he held out his hand to help her to her feet. As soon as her slender fingers were tucked in his, he changed the subject. Walking up the stairs to the restaurant, he shared the family story of how his uncle and father had collected every single shell that was embedded in the airy spiral staircase.

He wasn’t going to talk about his career.

He was on leave, and for the first time in his life, he was focusing on his wants. His needs. And right now, he needed to simply be a man.

One evening wouldn’t hurt, he told himself, ignoring the stabbing sense of disloyalty.

Not if that one evening brought him even an iota of solace against the pain.

Wicked Envy (The Wicked Horse Vegas Book 3)Wicked Envy by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading this series in order.

Avril is best friends with both Dane & Andrew. They are always going places together and strengthening their bond. Only this time, Dane does not want Avril to go.

Dane more than wants Avril. So does Andrew. They also truly love her and want to keep her for a friend. Will this experience taint all that they have worked for?

This is a stunning example of best friends turned lovers. I love how the author did not skip over the heavy details. Instead, making the story arc about the reality of what comes next. These characters are so intertwined, both hearts and minds – that it truly is love that takes them over the threshold here.
